Linda
Tellington – Jones has spent a lifetime
with horses. Her 24-year showing career
includes wins in endurance, dressage, three-day
eventing, steeple chasing, as well as English
and Western classes. In the early 1960’s
Linda began teaching amateurs how to start
their own horses using a system that is
safe and easy for both horse and rider.
Over the years she has incorporated many
unconventional ideas into her training methods,
including influencing a horse’s nervous
system through touch. Linda’s equine
expertise has evolved into a training method
called T.E.A.M. (Tellington-Jones Equine
Awareness Method).
The T.E.A.M. approach was developed when
Linda discovered that physical pain, soreness
and tension can cause behavior problems
in horses, affect personality and limit
a horse’s potential performance. The
T.E.A.M. method results in communication
and understanding between horse and handler.
It teaches the horse to think rather than
to just react instinctively. This unique
training involves three stages: Body Work,
which relieves tension and pain to affect
behavioral and locomotive problems in horses;
Ground Exercises, to enhance coordination,
balance, obedience, self-control, focus
and willingness to learn; Riding Awareness,
how balance, breathing and visualization
affects your horse’s attitude, stride,
confidence and performance.
Now, you can learn how to start your horse
with the T.E.A.M. method without having
to leave your home. This video will take
you through the basic steps for preparing
your horse for riding. Linda demonstrates
the Body Work and Ground Exercises including
using a whip as a “wand”; how
to use driving reins; preparation for lunging;
preparing the horse to accept a bit; the
first steps of saddling plus much more.
All these exercises and techniques will
result in a smooth transition to the final
goal of riding the horse.
This tape is perfect for any horse owner
– whether you are starting a young
horse, want to improve communication or
solve problems with an older horse. The
T.E.A.M. approach will help you recognize
your horse’s emotions, feelings, feelings
and individuality which will improve his
performance and give you a quality friendship,
enhancing your life with your horse. |
